فمنذ توليه مهامه سفيرًا لبلاده لدى القاهرة، حرص خلال فترة زمنية قصيرة على تقديم صورة حضارية متقدمة للدبلوماسية التركية، حيث اتسم حضوره بالنشاط الملحوظ والمشاركة الفاعلة في مختلف الفعاليات السياسية والثقافية والاجتماعية.

In the world of contemporary diplomacy, the role of an ambassador is no longer limited to officially representing their country or managing protocol relations. It has expanded to include building humanitarian bridges and strengthening understanding and friendship between peoples. Among the notable diplomatic figures who have recently emerged is the Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, who represents a model of a thoughtful diplomat combining high professional competence with refined humanity.
Through my experience of more than thirty years observing diplomatic work, and the relationships this experience has allowed me to build with many ambassadors and diplomats, I can confidently say that Ambassador Şen’s experience in Cairo represents a distinctive model of modern diplomatic performance.
Since assuming his duties as his country’s ambassador in Cairo, he has been keen, within a relatively short period, to present an advanced and civilized image of Turkish diplomacy. His presence has been notably active, with effective participation in various political, cultural, and social events.
This presence has not merely been a matter of protocol, but rather a sincere expression of a deep belief in the importance of bringing peoples closer together and building relations based on mutual respect and shared interests.
Ambassador Şen is well known in political, media, and cultural circles for his remarkable humility and his closeness to various segments of society—qualities that are rare in the world of diplomacy, which is often governed by formality.
He is always keen to accept invitations and participate in public occasions, and he maintains positive relations with figures from diverse intellectual, media, economic, and cultural fields. This has earned him wide appreciation and considerable respect within Egyptian society.
During his tenure in Egypt, relations between Egypt and Turkey have witnessed noticeable progress in several vital sectors. Economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has strengthened, alongside increased tourism activity and expanded cooperation in education, culture, and investment.
